Home Made Mango pickle. This recipe is ages old and traditionally punjabi style pickle recipe learnt from my mother and passed on in the family. Spices used to make this pickle are good for health. It’s really simple and easy to make. The spices are great for healthy metabolism and digestion. Also, the yummy pickle goes very well with our regular Indian food.
Spices measured for 2kg raw mango. 50 gms each of Mustard seeds, Fenugreek seeds, Black onion seeds(Kalongee), Fennel seeds (saunf). Hing powder(spoonful), Salt(250gms) , Red chilly powder (2 spoonful), Mustard Oil (1 cup), 2 spoonfuls of Turmeric powder and some black pepper powder…..
RECIPE:- Take 2 Kg green raw mangoes and wash them properly . When it dries up, cut it into small chunks. Keep these chunks in sunlight for a few hours. Meanwhile, grind spices in the grinder. Mix all the spices in a big container and now put one cup mustard oil in it and mix well. Now put mango chunks in the mixture of spices and mix properly with your hands. Take one ceramic container put the mango pickle into the container, keep this container in the sunlight for 1 week. Keep stirring the container from time to time so that spices will mix in properly. Put some more mustard oil in it, if required. Now your mango pickle is ready to eat, You can eat with your bread, rice and with paranthas .
